My good friend and drum man, Chad Busath, put together some performances on a DVD a while back. I recently came across it again and thought I would share! This is "Before You're Gone" performed in Fall of 2004.
Introduction
There are few things in this world that draw closer to me than good music. I am not an expert by any means, but I know how music has affected me and how it can affect others. I enjoy writing songs as a hobby and sometimes as a mission. My hope is that my music will reach someone out there who has been looking for something that I write: music that is enjoyable to listen to, relates to an experience or emotion, but is clean in content.
My style ranges from acoustic rock, to pop, folk, alternative, country, and jazz. I am influenced by several artists from very different genres. I never know exactly how the next song will sound, but there is definitely a "brand" attached to each one I write.

Better Days
I will soon have "Better Days" in the playlist. In the meantime, here are the lyrics:
Better Days
Wake me up
The dream I was living is now gone
I should give up and move on
I try to take a step but everything inside me won't let you go
I just can't let you go
I could see you smile even when it wasn't on your face
I keep I thinking of better days
But your gone now and I couldn't get in your way
You found someone to take my place
You moved on, and I wish I would've been better
Now all I have are those better days
I should have listened to what you said
Now all I have is what you left
A picture on the wall, I love you on a card
And a whole lot of emptiness
But your gone now and I couldn't get in your way
You found someone to take my place
You moved on, and I wish I would've been better
Now all I have are those better days
You said I could follow you then I tore us in two
Why did I have to break it
The little things I would never do were all you wanted me to
I guess you were just faking the smiles you were making
But your gone now and I couldn't get in your way
You found someone to take my place
You moved on, and I wish I would've been better
Now all I have are those better days
Better Days
Wake me up
The dream I was living is now gone
I should give up and move on
I try to take a step but everything inside me won't let you go
I just can't let you go
I could see you smile even when it wasn't on your face
I keep I thinking of better days
But your gone now and I couldn't get in your way
You found someone to take my place
You moved on, and I wish I would've been better
Now all I have are those better days
I should have listened to what you said
Now all I have is what you left

And a whole lot of emptiness

I guess you were just faking the smiles you were making
But your gone now and I couldn't get in your way

Now all I have are those better days

Writing, Writing, Writing - and some updates
So, lately I have been back into writing mode. I have a few quicker songs - "Grace for Glory" which I am finishing up, and "Just for You" which is about mid-song. In the meantime, I have recorded "Better Days." I am editing things for the full version, but have a rerecorded acoustic version I hope to put up this weekend. You may have heard the previous recording on my Facebook fan page, which needed to be reworked.

Where I Want to Be - Video
I have posted a very amateur video of "Where I Want to Be" which I wrote a while back. The recording is not the best, but hope you can try to enjoy it! Trista was very nice in helping me get that done and stacking the books on the chair for a "tripod".

Drums and Piano
It has always been my dream to play every instrument I record with. In the next few weeks, I will be getting the Yamaha DD65 compact digital drumset. In the past, I have been able to record basically everything but drums. This will be a new adventure as I have not had a whole lot of experience with them. Also, I am working on a song with a focus on piano. I am taking lessons now, but wrote most of it before then!!

Feet on the Floor - New Video
I was able to find a video of me playing "Feet On the Floor." I wrote this song back in 2005. At the time my wife was gone a lot, so I wrote this about the feeling of having someone gone. In my case it was my wife, in your cases, who knows!!
